TBD- or PS-TBD-Catalyzed One-Pot Synthesis of Cyanohydrin Carbonates and Cyanohydrin Acetates from Carbonyl Compounds.

Cyanation reactions of carbonyl compounds with methyl cyanoformate or acetyl cyanide catalyzed by 5 mol % of 1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4,4,0]dec-5-ene (TBD) were examined. Using methyl cyanoformate, the corresponding cyanohydrin carbonates were readily obtained in high yield for aromatic and aliphatic aldehydes and ketones. Similar results were obtained when acetyl cyanide was used as the cyanide sou...

Formation of enamides via palladium(II)-catalyzed vinyl transfer from vinyl ethers to nitrogen nucleophiles.

Palladium(II) complexes catalyze the formation of enamides via the formal cross-coupling reaction between nitrogen nucleophiles and vinyl ethers. These vinyl transfer reactions proceed in good yields with amide, carbamate, and sulfonamide nucleophiles, and the optimal catalyst is (DPP)Pd(OCOCF(3))(2) (DPP = 4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline). simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Domino gold-catalyzed rearrangement and fluorination of propargyl acetates.

A combination of IPrAuNTf(2) as catalyst in the presence of Selectfluor has been successfully used for the high yielding synthesis of α-fluoroenones via 1,3-acyloxy rearrangement of propargyl acetates followed by Csp(2)-F bond formation, likely involving a redox Au(I)/Au(III) catalytic cycle.

Cyanogen formation during asymmetric cyanohydrin synthesis.

During asymmetric cyanohydrin synthesis catalysed by vanadium(V)oxo(salen) complexes, the catalysts are reduced to vanadium(IV)oxo(salen) as determined by EPR spectroscopy; the reducing agent is cyanide which is oxidised to cyanogen via a non-radical mechanism.
